Can you help find misty?

Paige Schmidt, of Nevada City, is desperately seeking her precious, loyal 5-year-old Pomeranian, Misty, who went missing Feb. 20.

Schmidt is pretty sure Misty was stolen from her home on North Bloomfield Road, and she’s heartbroken about it. Schmidt heard a car pull into her driveway, and when she called her four dogs to come inside, Misty was the only one who didn’t show up.

Misty has eye problems and osteoporosis, for which she needs proper veterinary care. If you know where Misty might be, call the Nevada County Sheriff’s Office at 265-7880.

It’s OK to get

support

The Prostate Cancer Support Group will hold a meeting from 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., March 13, at Sierra Nevada Hospital in the Outpatient Conference Room 110.

Radiation oncologist Dr. Richard Evans and dosimetrist Tom Drennan will talk about IMRT – Image-Guided Radiation Therapy. It’s the state-of-the-art route for radiation therapy, hospital officials say. The presentation is free.

For more information, call 274-6656.

Be a compassionate volunteer

Hospice of the Foothills will holds its annual spring training for the patient care volunteer program. Volunteer coordinator Janis Lewis sent this:

“We are looking for people with a generous heart and a willingness to be with patients near the end of life to provide support and presence, massage or music to a family in the hospice program. … “
