Oops! Wrong day: The meeting to discuss local business at the Nevada City Chamber of Commerce office is Thursday at 9:30 a.m., not Friday, as was previously printed in this space. Apologies to the Chamber!

Check your penmanship: Vimala Rodgers, author of “Your Handwriting Can Change Your Life,” will be giving a workshop this Friday evening through Sunday titled “Tools to Jumpstart Your Life.” Vimala asserts that you can eliminate certain handwriting traits and change your life in dramatic ways. She’s also going to be teaching about the Enneagram, which I can’t really sum up because, well, I don’t exactly know what it is, but after you learn about it you are an Enneagram number. I’m sure I’ve butchered that explanation, but call Vimala if you want to learn more at 470-0991.

Gay marriage: We’ve had one courageous couple allow us to put their story in The Union, but I’m wondering – are there any other gay or lesbian Nevada County couples who have gone to San Francisco to be married? This is a big story, and we would like to give it as much of a local flavor as we can. Call or e-mail me if you want to be part of this bigger story.

Bumper stickers: Stuart Hoffman of Grass Valley spotted a good one at the Empire Mine: “Don’t Believe Everything You THINK.” And here’s a trifecta that has appeared on various cars around town:

– Visualize World Peace

– Visualize Whirled Peas

– Visualize Using Your Turn Signal
