Reader appreciates Web site

The Union deserves credit for the effort and time that must go into maintaining such a complete Web site as can be found at theunion.com While not advertised widely, here are some of the truly beneficial features I’ve found:

— Instant access to an archive of everything in past issues. Now I can wrap the garbage or start the fire without fear of throwing out a story or opinion I might want to refer to later.

— Quick reference to pictures of important past events, such as the forest fires last year. Currently, you can still access the Nevada City fire photos. That’s great for attaching same to an e-mail to a long lost friend who always asks, “So what’s happening out there?”

— Talk about current weather, the satellite view of the weather is updated every 10 minutes!

— And my favorite: I can electronically do an early search of the want ads if I’m looking for something, without having to make an early morning trip to the mailbox for the paper.

Thanks for a great addition to your paper!

I cannot say enough good things about Yuba Docs, our urgent care facility in Grass Valley. Saturday about noon, a close relative had a close encounter with a chainsaw resulting in a pretty deep-looking gash…
