Home Town: Nevada City

The group I volunteer for: Meals On Wheels

What I do for the group: I deliver meals into the houses.

How I got involved: My mom (Karen Terpening) and I started doing this four years ago.

Why I think this group’s work is important: Some of the people can’t drive and they need food.

The best thing that ever happened to me on this volunteer job was: Discovering how much I care about people.

The rewards I get from this volunteer job are: Helping people.

Other volunteer jobs I’ve done: Every Thursday, my mom and I take food to the people in Pioneer Park.

I’ve lived in Nevada County: Five years.

The most important job that faces us as a community is: Taking care of each other.

I think volunteerism is important because: There’s a lot of people who need things and we go out and help them.
