Questions for district attorney

To Mr. District Attorney (re “Judges following voters on sentencing,” letter to the editor, Jan. 27):

Thank you for your insensitive letter regarding the death of my husband, Drew Reynolds. Since you are so good with numbers, maybe you can answer these questions:

How many times can you be arrested for the same thing before it really counts?

How many times can you be arrested on felony charges and they be dropped to misdemeanors before a felony really sticks?

How many times can you be put on probation for the same crime before it really works?

How many families are going to be affected each year by situations like mine before a change is made?

And how many days, months or years before I can tell my girls it’s OK … We’ll be OK?

Lore Reynolds
