Punishing terrorists? | TheUnion.com

Punishing terrorists?

While the architect of 9/11’s misery reclines somewhere in the Hindu Kush, lulled into sweet dreams by the soft, rhythmic beeps of his dialysis machine …

… over 1,000 soldiers dead, another 7,000 mutilated; $400 billion slapped onto the national credit card. The Bill of Rights battered and dazed. Airport strip-searches. The daily drill of color-coded terror alerts. Hated and feared by the world, abandoned by our friends. Our credibility exhausted, our moral authority bankrupted.

Are we done punishing the terrorists yet?
