Protests insulting

On May 1, on all news stations, half the flags Mexican, half stars and stripes.

I am a Vietnam-era vet. I never saw a Mexican flag in Vietnam.

My family is full of U.S. war vets as far back as the Civil War. One young ancestor killed in a skirmish. They were immigrants to be given U.S. citizenship if they fought for the Union Army. One became the mayor of Madison, Wis.

There was no Mexican flag in the Revolutionary War, the War of 1812, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War.

The Mexican-American War ended in an agreement by Santa Ana and U.S. Representatives. Santa Ana said $15 million for New Mexico, Arizona and upper California at the Treaty of Hidalgo Guadeloupe approximately 1850. The U.S. purchased this territory at a treaty, not a surrender.

That the illegal Mexican insurgents (not immigrants) dare flaunt the Mexican flag in my face infuriates me, personally. Do we not have U.S. sovereignty gained by the lives and blood sacrificed by honorable U.S. men and women?

My best friend (Navy) and my wife are from Mexico, pro-Mexican. Sí.
