Problem will only get worse

I read your articles about the Greenhorn Creek area, and I have to agree it has become a monumental problem. I have been going to the creek and surrounding areas for 22 years, and it has gotten worse every year. We ride only on established roads so as not to damage the ecosystem. I was at the creek Easter Sunday; you can-not imagine the amount of raw garbage, burnt-out vehicles, appliances, etc. This problem exists due to the long wait and high prices the county charges at the transfer station. Back when the dump was free, we did not have these problems. There is a certain segment of society that will not and or does not have the money to pay to dump legally at the transfer station. I would gladly pay more than I already do on my property tax bill to allow so-called civilized people to dump for free at the transfer station instead of down at the creek.

P.S. Greenhorn Creek is not the only place this occurs – it’s a widespread problem throughout the whole county.
