Printing the truth about mountain lions

Finally, someone has had sense enough to print the truth about cougars. One little fact that the cat lovers refuse to reveal: Between 1945 and 1963, there was a bounty on cougars. There were 6,000 cougars when the bounty began and 6,000 when it ended. They never were endangered.

So let’s figure that half of the cougars in the woods are female. Every two years, they produce 3,000 more cougars. What do the new cougars eat? Well, let’s give this some serious thought. What would be a favorite food for a bear, wolf or cougar? Before the rifle came along, it was American Indians, of course, who can’t fight, are without horns or hooves, and can’t outrun a predator. Women and kids would be tops on this list. They could be found, coming to a stream for a drink or a bath.

Animal rights activists should be held criminally responsible for any of this damage, just as the KKK is held liable. We’d soon see the cougar danger reduced. My forefathers fought like hell to make this area safe for our children to get to school, and now it’s too dangerous for a group of them to wait for a school bus.
