Postal food drive: It’s easy to make a difference

The letter carriers from Grass Valley, Nevada City, Penn Valley and Rough and Ready will be collecting nonperishable food items left by mail boxes on Saturday May 11 for the Food Bank of Nevada County.

This is the major food drive of the year for the Food Bank and an example of how such a simple form of community involvement can make a huge difference to those in need here in Nevada County.

Last year’s drive yielded a record nine tons of non-perishable food items. With your support we can break that record. We especially need canned fruits, vegetable, and soups.

You can make a difference.
