Positive view of crisis

Last November, APPLE of Nevada County presented Richard Heinberg speaking on peak oil. He predicted the inevitable rise in the price of gasoline. If you left Heinberg a bit disturbed, wondering how we are going to get out of this mess, I urge you to come to the Grass Valley Veterans Hall Saturday, May 13, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

APPLE is supporting Reinette Senums’ Town hall Forum on Climate Change.

One of the highlights of this all-day event is keynote speaker Guy Dauncey, author of “Stormy Weather – 101 Solutions To Climate Change.” Guy has a refreshing “can do” attitude toward the potential solutions to peak oil and climate change. We hope the community will come out to hear his uplifting message.

At a time when many focus on the negative things happening in our world today, Guy focuses on the good work being done in other countries and other communities to wean us from dependence on petroleum-based fuels. For more information, go to http://www.townhallinstitute.org or call 530 270-8381. I hope to see you there.
