Katherine Ponce and Daniel Scott Christie, both of Grass Valley, were married Oct. 5 at Fairwinds Estate in Lake Tahoe. The ceremony was conducted by Rev. Christopher Seal.

The bride is the daughter of Estelle McKeown of Avalon, Catalina Island, and Joseph Ponce, deceased. She works at Vector Engineering in Grass Valley.



The groom is the son of Gwen and Gerald Christie of Nevada City. He works at SPD Market.

The bride wore a pink chiffon gown and carried a bouquet of pink roses.




The matron of honor was the bride’s sister, Michelle Jaeger of Avalon.

The junior bridesmaids were the bride’s nieces, Sarah Jaeger of Avalon and Nicole Ponce of Elk Grove, and the groom’s niece, Aimee Abbott of Grass Valley.

The best man was Robert Leary of Grass Valley.

The bride was given away by her brothers, Michael Ponce of Avalon and William Ponce of Elk Grove.

Approximately 100 guests attended the ceremony and dinner reception at Fairwinds Estate.

The reception was catered by Twin Peaks Catering.

The couple is planning a February wedding trip to Hawaii.

They live in Peardale.
