Police, give disc golfers a break

Is it really worth our local taxpayers’ money on the frequent visits through the disc golf course by the Grass Valley Police Department? The Grass Valley police officers are being seen more and more, often walking and even riding bikes through Condon Park’s fun, free outdoor disc golf course.

One of the four most popular outdoor sports amongst both the younger and even older generations is being bombarded with officers patrolling through, issuing numerous citations for petty offenses, such as smoking cigarettes outside designated areas. etc. (Which, by the way, only has one bench set aside for smoking.)

This is discouraging many of us in partaking in this healthy and safe sport, which we have regularly enjoyed in the past. I feel that the majority of those who use the course have been very respectful in the matter of keeping disc golf courses clean and well kept.

Please, give us a break.
