An 18-year-old man was arrested on an outstanding warrant after being treated for head injuries resulting from being hit with a baseball bat.

Family members took Adam Lloyd Beck to Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital’s emergency room after he suffered head injuries in a fight behind Grass Valley’s Del Oro Theater. Beck told officers he had been struck in the head with a bat, but declined to say who did it. Officers arrested Beck on an earlier warrant for battery.


Dutch Robert Cooper, 18, of Penn Valley was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility for burglary, driving on a suspended or revoked license, forgery, possession of bad checks or money orders, receiving known or stolen property, possession of marijuana or hashish for sale, and another related charge.

Boating officers were busy at Rollins Reservoir over the three-day weekend citing several boat operators for creating wakes in a no-wake zone.


A burglary of jewelry and money was reported from a home on You Bet Road. Forced entry was made through a window.

Officers are investigating the death of a North San Juan 7-month-old baby girl. No names were released.

An Alta Sierra man reported that two bikes valued between $200 and $400 were stolen from his driveway.
