Nevada County Sheriff’s Office


• At 1:39 p.m., security guards at Lake Wildwood reported that a cell phone had been found in one of several vehicles that had been broken into the night before, on the 14500 block of Sun Forest Drive. According to the sheriff’s office, the cell phone is believed to belong to a suspect in the thefts.

• Several carloads of people were reportedly firing off weapons and shouting at 6:42 p.m. near Greenhorn Creek.


• A mountain lion was reportedly stuck in a barbed wire fence on the 14900 block of Indian Springs Road at 8:19 a.m. No further information was available.

• A caller at Pioneer Park reported at 2:36 p.m. that someone was possibly selling drugs near a creek, next to the horseshoe pits.
