Grass Valley Police Department


• At 8:15 a.m., a caller at Carpet One Warehouse, on the 300 block of Railroad Avenue, reported that two vehicles had been broken into the previous night. Both vehicles had smashed-out windows.

• A caller on the 200 block of Cypress Hill Drive reported at 6:31 p.m. that his car had been hit by paintballs, causing permanent damage.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office


• At 12:01 p.m., a caller at Solid Rock Foursquare Church, on the 11600 block of Spenceville Road reported that the church had been burglarized. Several strobe lights, paint guns and other supplies were stolen.

• A caller on the 11800 block of Upper Circle Drive reported at 11:19 p.m. that a neighbor’s home alarm had been going off, and at the same time, two people jumped a fence off the property. Deputies suspected prowlers, although the home had not been entered.

Fire calls


• A small spot fire was reported just after 2 p.m. in North San Juan, near Reader Ranch Road. The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, North San Juan and the U.S. Forest Service responded. The fire, which was less than one acre, was contained soon after it was reported.


• A two-car collision where Highway 20 and Highway 49 in Grass Valley meet stalled traffic for about 15 minutes about 4:50 p.m. One person suffered minor injuries.
