Grass Valley Police Department Sunday

• At 1:01 p.m., a caller on the 300 block of Joerschke Drive reported that someone was shooting a pellet gun randomly in a parking lot. Police talked to the shooter and warned him that the pellet gun could be confiscated.


• A clerk at a gas station on the 800 block of East Main Street reported at 12:10 a.m. that a man had just come in looking to buy groceries after the store had closed. The man smelled of alcohol and told the clerk that he should not have been driving. The man then drove off.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office


• A red mountain bike was reported stolen at 1:10 p.m. from the 12300 block of Alta Sierra Drive.

Fire calls


• A 100-acre grass fire burned four structures around 11 a.m. near Beale Air Force Base. The fire took place off Highway 65, outside of Marysville. Fire crews from the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, the U.S. Forest Service and Yuba County responded. The smoke could be seen from Penn Valley.
