Grass Valley Police Department Saturday

• At 8:52 a.m., a caller on the 200 block of Harper Street reported the theft of a wallet from an unlocked vehicle.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office


• A person at the Nevada County Courthouse juror parking lot reported finding a bag of marijuana in the lot at 5:20 p.m.


• A mailbox was reported stolen, at 9:38 a.m., from the side of property on the 11500 block of Ridge Road.

• At 6:40 p.m., a caller on the 13200 block of Mystic Mine Road reported that his or her home had been burglarized. A cut-off saw, drill press and .357-caliber Magnum firearm were stolen.


• Several political election signs were reported stolen, at 10:05 a.m., from the town of Washington. The signs were for candidates for the town’s water board.

Fire calls


• A 70-year-old Lake of the Pines man suffered serious back and neck injuries, at about 9 a.m., after a water skiing accident at the lake. Higgins Area and California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection responded to the call, and the man was taken by helicopter to Sutter Roseville Medical Center.
