Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

• A caller reported at 12:21 a.m. that a young man wearing a blue and white work shirt and a baseball cap was sleeping on the caller’s porch on the 300 block of South Auburn Street. Police responded and advised the man to move on.

Thursday

• A caller reported at 5:54 p.m. the theft of a mannequin at a store on the 400 block of Broad Street.

Friday

• At 11:31 a.m., a tree was on fire on the 700 block of Nevada Street. When firefighters responded, they discovered the cause of the fire was an electric malfunction of a street lamp mounted in the tree.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office

Thursday

• A man called police at 7:29 p.m. to report that his wife was supposed to return for dinner at 5 p.m. and had not arrived yet to their home on the 13300 block of the Nevada City Highway. He said she had no medical problems and knew the area well.
