Grass Valley Police Department


• A caller on the 100 block of Mill Street reported at 2:54 p.m. that a purse was stolen from the building about 10 minutes previously, possibly by two men selling candy door-to-door. Police later arrested one man for petty theft.


• At 9:43 a.m., a student was reported to have been assaulted at the Park Avenue Alternative Site, a collection of public schools on Park Avenue.

• At 3:55 p.m., a man reported that a briefcase was stolen from his unlocked vehicle while it was parked at the Cedar Ridge Post Office, on the 12700 block of Colfax Highway.

• A caller reported at 5:09 p.m. that he had driven by the intersection of Wild Turkey Lane and Highway 20, and a man in the road swung a shovel at him.

• At 6:41 p.m., a caller on the 10100 block of Carriage Road reported that a check that was stolen earlier from his home had been cashed Monday.
