Grass Valley Police Department Wednesday

• A mailbox on the 100 block of Park Avenue was reportedly vandalized at 6:10 a.m.

• At 12:39 p.m., a caller at Safeway on Neal Street reported that a man and a woman had come to the front of the store and the man picked up a watermelon and handed it to her. The man then reportedly went inside the store, picked up some auto equipment, and took it back to a car – a silver Metro – where he started working on it. Police cited the man for shoplifting.

• At 7:29 a.m., a caller on the 11000 block of Woodchuck Court reported that the home was burglarized the previous night while the residents were inside.
