Nevada County Sheriff’s Office


– At 1:25 p.m., a caller on the 14400 block of Pierite Road reported a company had embezzled $1,500 from him.

– A man reported at 3:17 p.m. that a solar-powered light on his vehicle had been vandalized on the 13400 block of Gold Country Drive.


– At 7:04 a.m., a caller on the 10100 block of Evening Star Drive reported the theft of a white 2003 GMC van, license plate 7F66241.

Fire calls


– A quarter-acre fire, reportedly caused by a campfire, was reported at 4:15 p.m. outside the town of Washington near Relief Hill Road. The U.S. Forest Service, California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, and Washington Volunteer Fire Department responded to the call.
