Grass Valley Police Department

Friday

– Thomas Cecil Rabbitt, 45, and Natasha Leann Young, 26, of Grass Valley, were arrested on suspicion of carrying a loaded gun in a public place, possession of a controlled substance for sale and committing a felony with a dangerous weapon, all felonies; and possession of a hypodermic needle and controlled substance paraphernalia, misdemeanors.



– At 5:11 p.m., a caller reported a male suspect pointing a gun at cars on West Main Street near the Peace Lutheran church. The suspect was described as wearing a cap, with dark hair, and 5-feet-10-inches tall. Police were not able to locate the suspect.




Sunday

– A large oil spill was reported at 2:09 a.m. near East Main Street and Hughes Road. It was cleaned up.

Nevada County Sheriff’s Office

Friday

– Theft of a purse was reported at 1:25 p.m. on the 11000 block of Sutton Way.

– At 2:24 p.m., a caller on the 18000 block of Penn Valley Drive requested an extra deputy patrol during the midday hours because the caller has had a problem with some male suspects urinating in a parking lot.

– Richard James Spoerer, 72, of Nevada City, was arrested on suspicion of inflicting corporal injury on a co-habitant and assault with a deadly weapon, both felonies.

Saturday

– At noon, a caller reported a mailbox had been vandalized on the 10500 block of Rough and Ready Highway. The caller said a cell phone had been left behind.
