Grass Valley Police Department


— A worker at Amigos & Co., 108 E. Main St., reported at 9:09 a.m. that the restaurant had been burglarized.

— A worker at Lutz Center Adult Day Services, 714 W. Main St., reported at 8:27 a.m. that a TV and VCR had been stolen.


— Travis J. Downing, 20, of Grass Valley was arrested on suspicion of burglary on the 200 block of Mill Street after allegedly trying to break into a vehicle with another man around 8:30 p.m., according to police. He was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on $10,000 bail.

The other suspect got away on foot, police reported.

— A caller from the 400 block of Holly Drive, north of Dorsey Drive, requested at 9:29 a.m. that her jade pipe, which was in the possession of two men arrested in an unrelated case, be returned. The caller said she used the pipe to smoke marijuana, and she had a medical recommendation.

A caller from the 11000 block of Deerlick Road, between Lake Wildwood and Rough and Ready, reported at 9:25 a.m. that he suspected the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms had tapped his phone. He likely had phone problems, and he was referred to his phone company.
