— Cash was stolen during a burglary at Wholesale House, 12731 Loma Rica Drive, a caller reported at 7:29 a.m.

— A juvenile at Nevada Union High School was cited with marijuana possession at 12:18 p.m. Another juvenile there was cited with distributing a controlled substance.


Seven people were arrested after a pair of related methamphetamine busts Thursday night and Friday morning, the Sheriff’s Office reported.

At 7:30 p.m. Thursday on the 10000 block of Walker Drive in Grass Valley, narcotics agents allegedly seized one-third ounce of meth and $3,400.

Arrested were Daniel Jackson, 42, of Grass Valley; John Clay, 51, of Grass Valley; Thomas Kern, 33, of Auburn; Colleen Jarrett, 51, of Grass Valley; and Sharlyn Zufelt, 30, of Grass Valley.

Agents then searched Jackson’s Floral Road home in Grass Valley at 1:30 a.m. Friday and allegedly found 2.75 ounces of meth, chemicals and other items associated with making the drug.

Arrested were Robert Smith, 47, of Oroville and Tanya Halleib, 42, of Grass Valley. Six of the seven people are suspected of drug offenses; Halleib was arrested on a warrant.
