Sheriff’s Office


— A juvenile at Nevada Union High School was cited at 9:55 a.m. for marijuana possession.

— Checks were stolen from a mailbox on the 11000 block of Rohaje Lane near Highway 174 and Brunswick Road. Some of the checks were forged for roughly $1,000, a caller reported at 12:19 p.m.

— A juvenile at Bear River High School was cited at 2:25 p.m. for marijuana possession.

Grass Valley Police Department


A juvenile at Sierra Foothill High School was cited at 8:56 a.m. for marijuana possession.


A worker at Golden Empire Market, 105 W. Empire St., reported at 8:48 p.m. that someone grabbed a stack of lottery tickets and fled.

Nevada City Police



A newspaper carrier reported at 5:08 a.m. finding a broken window at Pine Street Market, 115 S. Pine St. Police took a burglary report.
