A Sierra Nevada Memorial Hospital worker requested help at 11:35 a.m. after finding out a patient was scheduled for an operation. The patient’s home was checked, but he later turned up at the hospital.


Clayton S. Nelson, 43, of Grass Valley was arrested on suspicion of recklessly evading an officer and of paraphernalia possession.

He was booked into Wayne Brown Correctional Facility on $11,000 bail.

His arrest came after he failed to yield to officers at Rough and Ready Highway and Bitney Springs Road at about 11:42 p.m., according to the Sheriff’s Office.

A Morgan Ranch resident complained at 3:40 p.m. about speeders from Nevada Union High School and requested traffic control on Ridge Road.
