Play is a can’t miss

In the 10 years I’ve lived in this county, I’ve sometimes been impressed and sometimes underwhelmed by the offerings of the Foothill Theater Company. I haven’t had my socks knocked off until now.

Do not miss the current play, Strange Sightings in the Great Southwest, written by local playwright Jacklyn Maddux, directed by local playwright/director Sands Hall, and performed by three phenomenal women and one man (who gets to do some hilarious sexual posturing in his cowboy boots). It’s unpredictable just when you think you’re predicting it, and profound just when you think it’s going to cross the line into kitsch. It’s moving without being sentimental, and redemptive without being unrealistic. It’s great. Go see it. You have until Sunday, June 4.
