Planners should OK Foundry plan

The new roof for Miners Foundry was a wonderful addition to the building. Now it’s time for the bathrooms and new office space to get started. I think that three different designs from the architect is adequate enough for the Planning Commission to make a decision regarding the Foundry. The Foundry trustees and the architect have researched old photos and drawings of the building – specifically the original opening – and have incorporated this into the drawings, with windows that will barely be seen from Spring Street. The latest design is lovely and matches the existing historical windows in the Stone Hall, dating from 1859. I urge the Planning Commission to accept the Foundry’s latest design and to let the Board of Trustees begin its next phase of remodeling to this wonderful community venue.
