PG and E to check power lines

PG&E helicopter crews will be patrolling power lines in the Washington and Allegheny areas for five days starting Monday. Patrols will be from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The annual patrols inspect the lines to ensure safety and reliability, and to identify equipment in need of repair. Helicopters are the only efficient way of conducting inspections in mountainous areas, according to PG&E.
