Olivia Diaz has a rational perspective of what runaway development does to desirable places. Strip development, ill-planned residential areas, traffic congestion, poor education, reduced public services, and intolerable crime – these things always happen to desirable places without elected representatives with the courage to prevent them. We already have a taste of these problems, and don’t have to travel far to get the full picture. If we want Nevada County to retain any semblance of remaining a nice area in which to live, we need representatives like Olivia who have the perspective and courage to keep it that way.
