Rose Marie Pelayo and Matthew William Knispek, both of Arcata, were married July 19 at Centerville Estates. The garden ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Steve Lampkin.

The bride is the daughter of Rita and George Patrick Pelayo of Chico.

The groom is the son of Jane and William Knispek of Grass Valley.

The bride wore a matte satin dress with spaghetti straps and a chapel train. She wore a gold nugget belonging to her mother.

She carried the groom’s lucky 1881 Indian-head penny in a satin bag and a bouquet of white-and-pink flowers.

The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Sherri Pelayo, of San Francisco.

The bridesmaids were Amy Hoff of Paradise, Tressa Keyer of Citrus Heights and Katie Knispek Keller of Arcata.

The best man was Tate Nilsson of Chico.

The groomsmen were Chris Nilsson of Chico and Brian Stover of Sacramento.

Friends and family attended the Hawaiian-themed wedding and reception at the Centerville Estate Hideaway.

The three-tier cake was decorated with white frosting scallops.

Special guests included the groom’s uncle, H. B. Alvord of Pebble Beach and cousins Katie Alvord Klugness of Hooten, Mich., Ci Ci Alvord Jackson of St. Louis and Marjorie Alvord Berry from Berkeley; and Kathy Boyd, the bride’s aunt, and her daughter, Megan Boyd, from Milwaukee.

The couple honeymooned in Southern California.

They live in Arcata.
