Party for rest of us?

With both political parties trying to outdo each other at opposite ends of the political spectrum, I keep wondering, “Where is the party for the rest of us, the folks in the middle?” How about a party that espouses these views:

• Opposes abortion and gay marriage but does not discriminate against those with whom we disagree.

• Supports a balanced budget and fiscal responsibility, including sunsetting programs that don’t work.

• Wants a limited military sufficient to protect the nation without empire building.

• Believes reasonable social programs are important, like Social Security and healthcare for those who don’t have access to it.

• Still believes in and upholds the Bill of Rights, including freedom of speech, religion, and freedom from unwarranted search and seizure.

• Supports a judiciary that upholds the Constitution and the law as written, not as they would like to write it.

Am I the only one in the world who supports views such as these, or is everybody else polarized with the parties? What ever happened to reason and common sense?
