Parties, stay neutral

I noticed in Saturday’s paper that the local Democratic Party has endorsed one of Linda Stevens’ opponents for supervisor. I assume the Republican Party will do the same for the other opponent. For a non-partisan office I think the political parties should remain neutral, especially when several candidates may be from the same party.

I am a Democrat who never agrees totally with those running for office. However, I have found Linda Stevens to be pragmatic and reasonable in her approach to issues in this county. I know Linda works to make the right decisions to benefit all citizens.

If Linda is elected to the Board of Supervisors, I know she will not govern as a Democrat or a Republican, but as a public servant in every sense of the word.
