Parents donate $7,000 to offset school cutbacks

Deer Creek Elementary School Parent Teacher Club has donated $7,000 to offset budget cuts in the school’s music program.

“Our school has made great strides over the past few years to add quality programs, including art and music,” said Jennifer Dahlgren, PTC president. “… we are pleased to dedicate some of the funds we have raised to maintain the full music program.”

“We’re delighted that our involved parents have been able to help us through this budgeting challenge,” said Principal Mike McGarr.

The school serves about 500 students in grades three through five.
