Parent, former teacher supports Yuba River Charter School

I wholeheartedly reject Debra Snell’s claim that Yuba River Charter School is “a crack in the wall of separation of Church and State.” (“Court serves lawsuit against charter school,” Feb. 12.)

As a former school teacher and the parent of a child who has attended YRCS the past four years, I have witnessed no evidence of religion being taught. What I do see is an incredibly dedicated staff, providing my son with a top-notch public education.

I applaud Twin Ridge Elementary School District for supporting such an excellent school and for welcoming active parent participation. And I can assure Ms. Snell that the only place our child is learning about religion is in our home and St. Patrick’s Church. My husband, Tom, and I stand by Yuba River Charter School 100 percent.
