Over a cliff?
The alleged torture and humiliation of the prisoners in Iraq sickens right-minded people everywhere. President Bush’s expression of “disgust” is lame and insufficient. There is a lack of outrage on his part. He has not shown that he is determined to see the perpetrators responsible for these actions brought to justice, i.e., his own secretary of defense, Donald Rumsfeld.
These acts are the result of the administration’s belief in privatizing the functions of the government, such as contracting out the interrogation of prisoners by people who are not subject to military codes of conduct nor subject to criminal law when the acts take place in a country without a functioning judiciary.
Fans of George W. Bush cite his strong leadership. If someone is leading you over a cliff … enough said.
