Outrageous conduct seen at North San Juan fire meeting

On Feb. 4, I attended the North San Juan Fire Board meeting as a member of the public and am outraged at what I witnessed. Board chairman Bruce Boyd made disrespectful comments to the president of the auxiliary and took it upon himself to draft a letter of reply to a citizen’s letter regarding the recent audit without first discussing it with the full board. He allowed Fire Chief Boyd Johnson to go on a tirade and bash another board member with accusations of theft while ejecting a member of the public audience who objected to Chief Johnson’s uncontrolled outburst.

I was sitting directly behind the wife of the board member being bashed and could not help but notice the look on her face during the chief’s explosive monologue of accusations.

I have sat on many boards and been president of four in my lifetime, and this last meeting I attended is a disgrace to the public which this board represents.

I believe there have been violations of the Brown Act and the rights of citizens wanting to be heard.

If any member of the public in this district doubts what I am saying happened, this meeting was recorded.
