Open your mind, heart, senses

A response to “Same-sex marriage still against the law”:

This letter suggested that the recently published notice of marriage of a same sex couple should have appeared in the Police Blotter instead of in the “Celebration of Marriage” section. Dear writer, your letter made me very sad. Not for me, but for you. I have often observed that people who have the special gift of love and happiness in their lives, those people rejoice in the happiness and success of others. Love makes us generous. Unhappy people, seeing the happiness of others, often become angry and bitter.

Writer of this mean-spirited letter: Perhaps you could open your mind and heart and senses, look outside yourself and find reasons to rejoice in your own life. Then you would not need to waste your energy on hating those who love and are loved in return.
