On Thursday, Oct. 10, city councilman Gerald Tassone

On Thursday, Oct. 10, city councilman Gerald Tassone, who is running for re-election, came to my door to introduce himself.

I asked him if he could do something about cleaning up the plant-clogged mosquito-breeding creek that runs from Townsend Street, under Walsh, and along the path to the Little League Park.

To my amazement, a few hours later he called to tell me why the work was delayed. I say to my amazement, because a follow-up was so unexpected.

The creek clean-up is being held up because Fish and Game also has jurisdiction and the city needs its approval. So with patience, this problem will be solved.

His quick response earns Mr. Tassone my vote.
