Old-time music

To the letter-writers and others who miss the music on KCTC 1320 AM, I have some good news I’d like to share.

Radio station KVIN (The Vine – Vintage 920 AM) out of Modesto carries the identical programming of music 24 hours a day that was heard on KCTC.

If you have trouble receiving their signal, an indoor AM radio antenna designed to pick up out-of-town broadcasts with any AM receiver is available from the C. Crane Company (1-800-522-8863 or ccrane.com). They also offer a radio designed for long-range AM reception and both are reasonably priced.

Another alternative in the local area is KUBA 1600 AM in Yuba City, which exclusively plays hits from the ’60s and ’70s.

In the words of Joni Mitchell’s “Big Yellow Taxi,” – “You don’t know what you’ve got ’til it’s gone.”
