Not fooled by distractions

The ballroom events are over, the oath has been taken and the second term has begun. So has the distraction, as clearly indicated in the State of the Union speech. A mandate has been claimed and the goals for the second term have been clearly drawn.

In reality there is only one issue. This God awful war and its world-wide implications. Fine young men and women (our children) are serving and dying in this ill conceived and ill defined war. Time spent on other issues only distracts from a solution to this war and absolutely adds to the loss of life.

Among others, the president wants to reform Social Security, taxes and correct tort law. These goals are far out of touch with the majority of normal Americans. All polls distinctly show that most Americans put the war, terrorism and health care at the top of their concern list and SS and tax reform at the bottom. The American people are correct. The Wall Street Journal poll indicates only 40 percent of Americans believe it was worth the price to remove Saddam and 60 percent do not! Don’t be fooled by distractions, and hold your government accountable. Be vigilant America.
