No conspiracy in schools

It disturbs me to see county supervisor candidate Drew Bedwell trying to bring county schools into his extreme and mean-spirited rhetoric in accusing the schools and our county superintendent, Dr. Terry McAteer, of being the pawns of a U.N. conspiracy via various environmental groups (March 6, 2002, e-mail letter). He claims in the letter that this alleged U.N. conspiracy is actively trying to “take over our children’s minds.” I am very happy with the way our schools are being run here in Nevada County. Our school boards and superintendents have the children and education as their priority, rather than the petty politics that are prevalent in some big city districts.

Good schools – a wonderful benefit of living in our rural county. Mr. Bedwell, please leave our schools out of your extremist, U.N.-conspiracy-theory attacks.
