Nevada County family’s Reagan connection

Former President Reagan’s passing brought back some of our memories about him. When he ran for governor, we mailed him a newspaper clipping and mentioned that if he really thought and did what he said, he could do great things for America.

Much to our surprise, he wrote back that he hadn’t seen the article, and thanked us for taking the time to write to him. Later he sent us an invitation to his inauguration ceremony.

Here is a photo of him when he was at the Nevada County Airport during his campaign. Bonnie’s mother, Lilly Belle, and stepfather Val Baima were on the left front side of him.
