Nationally known writer speaking in GV

Andrew Winer, a nationally recognized writer, will come to Grass Valley on Tuesday to discuss his debut novel, “The Color Midnight Made.”

The coming-of-age novel is set in the closing-down period of the Alameda Naval Air Station, and is the story of a young boy struggling with growing up in a town that is shutting down. It should appeal to people familiar with Bay Area geography.

It will be at 7 p.m. at Odyssey Books. Admission is free, and refreshments will be served.
