After reading letters and Mr. Ackerman’s column I think an answer to the “Mural Debate” might be two murals.

On the Del Oro recreate the original mural, as seen in the 1950s, and item historic to Grass Valley, that should sit well with the “Old Timers,” and “Galvanized Cousin Jacks.”

I prefer the old mural, depicting mining activities.

The other mural could showcase Mr. Pugh’s talents and depict the Nevada County of today, so the “New Timers” would also be happy.

The “canvas” for the second mural could be the new Holiday Inn which is also visible from the freeway.

This might satisfy both halves of the town and keep Mr. Pugh from possible nailing to a wagon leaving town.
