Mural needs work

Please don’t paint a terrorist-style hole in the wall on a prominent building in downtown Grass Valley. All this mural (The Union, Jan. 26) lacks is a huge ball of flame and the tail-section of an airplane.

I’ve seen this artists work before. He is very skillful, and his illusions are very realistic; but is this good enough reason to paint what appears to be a catastrophic event on the Del Oro building? There must be many other ways that he can utilize his technique that would be more appropriate for this highly visible site in our community.

It is extremely difficult to see the “historic, natural beauty, and friendly, charming atmosphere” of Grass Valley in this design. This mural is way off base and should be thrown out immediately.
