Motorists need to slow down on country roads

Re the photo published Feb. 11 in The Union: I appreciate newspaper coverage of accidents that impact many of our lives.

This picture of a car overturned in a ditch on a seemingly quiet rural street should be a warning to people who use our roads as their personal racetrack.

Many of the drivers who use Adam Avenue zoom up or down it at top speed (even though the speed limit is 25 mph). Coming over the hill you can not see if a car is slowed, turning into a driveway in front of you.

A similar accident happened about a year ago during mid-day in the same spot. Thank God no one was badly hurt, or killed – this time!

PLEASE – slow down on our country roads. Speed limits are set for a good reason – to save lives!
