Mother Truckers’ friends

In response to [the letter headlined] “Dirty hippies?” (Aug. 5):

We all hope up here that people who share her bigoted, narrow-minded viewpoint believe her and never want to shop in one of the healthiest little grocery stores I have ever shopped in (no GMOs).

For 14 years I have shopped there and mingled with doctors, lawyers, loggers, interior decorators, teachers, deputy sheriffs, volunteer firefighters from all walks of life, all sorts of different folk, and of course, the eternal flower child, the hippies.

All of us have been dirty at one time or another. We work, duh! On our land, for our community. For the most part we are good neighbors. And we love our corner market. So [letter-writer], all I have to say to you is I hope you have long hair to cover up your bigoted red neck, but all my hippie friends would say to you, peace.

Thank you Mother Truckers for all these years of service and to the great employees. Keep on being as great as you are. You keep us fed and healthy.
