More parade politics

Regarding the July Fourth parade in Nevada City, the organizers should be thanked for all their hard work. I would suggest there be more political speech in next year’s parade. A celebration of our country’s birth is exactly the right place to hear and see rambunctious politics from right, left and center.

While bands and horses are nice, there is nothing like lots of political hot air to differentiate this great nation from all the others. People who suggest that we limit political speech in any context are surely not familiar with the Bill of Rights, and should seriously consider packing their bags if they are unwilling to honor the First Amendment. America, love it or leave it.
